Bedford Education Foundation

The Bedford Education Foundation relies on financial contributions from the community to fund its activities.  There are several ways BEF raises money to serve it's short term and long terms needs, so we're sure you'll find a method appropriate to you.  Thank you in advance for your generous support.

 The Endowment  Campaign - LAunched in January 2010, this five year, $500,000 campaign will create a perpetual endowment that will ensure the success of the BEF for generations to come.  Be part of laying the foundation of excellence in education in our community. 

The Annual Fund - BEF raises funds each year to sustain it's annual operations.  Gifts to the Annual Fund service grants awarded within that year and fund BEF activities

 Pave the Path Campaign - A once in a lifetime opportunity to be put your name on Bedford's newest investment in education.  BEF is offering engraved bricks to pave the way to both the Bedford High School as well as the Lurgio Middle School is available.

Matching Gifts

Many companies offer an employee matching program for charitable contributions each year.  This is a tremendous opportunity to magnify the power of your gift and take advantage of "free money".  Contact your company HR representative to find out details on your company's program and help BEF reach its goals.

Donations of Stock 

There are some significant potential tax advantages for making a gift of stocks and bonds to a favorite charity. Generally you can:

• Receive an immediate tax deduction for the value of the donated stock at the time you donate it.
• Avoid paying huge capital gains taxes on stock that has appreciated significantly in value since you purchased it.
• Reduce your taxable estate by donating stock to a charity.
